(JY TBLEORAPH.—PRESS JSSOCIATION.) . CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A close- holiday is being observed for Anzac Day. A massed service is being held in Cranmer-square this afternoon, and at the Anglican and Catholic Cathedrals special services were held. The former was attended by a. large number of Anzacs, and was an impressive sight. Bishop Julius referred feelingly to the men who had departed. At the Catholic Cathedral' Bishop Brodie also gave a stirring sermon. . The ships at Lyttelton are gay with bunting, the survey vessel Carnegie being specially dressed in honour of the memory of the Anzacs. j DUNEDIN, This Day. There is beautiful weather for Anzac Day and a partial holiday is being observed. The main features were a procession of returned soldiers, and a, united religious service will be held to-night. This morning the women of the Otago Recruiting Committee placed a wreath on tile grave of each soldier buried in Dunedin .and one large wreath for all Ot-ago soldiers buried on foreign soil. AUCKLAND, This Day. Anzac Day was celebrated in fine weather. Following upon a procession of veterans of Anzac through Queenstreet, a memorial service was held in the Town Hall. those present were the Governor and the Hon. A. M. Myers. In the evening .about 300 " soldiers will be entertained at dinner. Commemorative services were held in various churches during the forenoon.
