GERMANS GIVE UP BRITISH TRENCHES.
"OWING TO THE UNDERGROUND FLOODS."
LONDON, 23rd April.
A Berlin communique says:—Ovving_ to underground floods rendering organisation impossible, we liave evacuated the trenches we had won ort the Langeraarck-1 Ypres road. Minor British attacks were repulsed at St. Eloi and on the Bapaiime Albertroad. A gas attack at Tracy le Val was foiled, the gas clouds being blown back on the French positions.
