THE HUN'S TRUMP CARD
AND THE RUSSIAN JOKER,
(Received April 25, 8.10 a.m.) PETROGRAD, 24th April.
Since May, 1915, the Russians were fatally subjected a hundred times to gas attacks. All remonstrances were received with laughter, the Germans describing gas as their trump card. They are now astonished to discover that the Russians are formidably provided with the same weapon. Meanwhile, the Germans during the winter months have been manufacturing eight thousand pounds of chloride daily, foreshadowing the extensive use of gas on the Russian ' front.
