EMPRESS THEATRE.

Albert Chevalier, in the big, emotional drama, " My Old Dutch," drew a record house at the Empress Theatre, last night. The play is so full of appeal that it affects even the most case-hardened playgoer, and last night the large attendance mingled' tears with laughter as the people followed the fortunes of the ambitious coster and his wile who toiled to make their son a gentleman, and when that son turned from being a cad into a man the house j rejoiced with one accord. The last four I nights are announced.

THE ROYAL STROLLERS. Entertainment of a bright and wholesome character was iprovided for a crowded audience at the Grand Opera House last night. The Royal Strollers as individuals are decidedly clever, but tho remarkable feature- of their show is the way in which they work together. Mr. Sidney James, Stroller-in-chief, is not only a comedian, but he knows how to bring out the best of those associated with him. As a ventriloquist he is capable and original. Miss Madeline Rossiter and Mr. G. W. Desmond are the dancers of the company, very light on their feet and entertaining also in comedy work. Mr. George Graystone delights with baritone songs, such as "The Yeomen of England." He also takes his part well in the burlesque plays and other "business." At the piano Miss Gwen Lewis sings charmingly and with a dainty humour. Miss Connie Milne is a soprano vocalist who understands her art. The orchestra must not be forgot- . ten, for, under the baton of Mr. Arthur Frost, it completes the success of the entertainment.
