BIBLE SCHOOLS AND MISSIONS.
The Bible School session of the Church of Christ Conference waa opened on Saturday morning, Bro. F. B Knapp, the president of the Bible School Union, presiding. A useful talk was given on the qualifications of a successful teacher. The teacher, said the president, must be consecrated to Christ and His> Church —one who is to be found regularly at the meetings for worship and prayer, one who is Well informed on Bible truth, and also well informed on the nature and characteristics of the; pupil. •-. , The report of the committee and balance-sheets wore adopted. The following were elected for the coming year :—President, Bro. F. 8.. Knapp; vice-president, Bro. F. J. Phillips; secretary, Bro. P. Boddington; treasurer, Bro. H. Ames; committee, Bro. W. Bell, Bro. Dixon, Bro. Inglis. Tho Foreign Mission Session was presided over by Bro. R. Hall. The- report presented to conference showed forward work in. South Africa, under the charge of Bro. F. L. Hadfield and Bro. T. Anderson and their respective j wives. The work at Buluwayo and Intini and two native stations was very satisfactory. Belingwe, tho place where Bro. Wm. Mansili, of Wellington, gave his life, is now a successful out-station under the charge of Bro. John Tokwe. During the year £375 had been raised in New Zealand for this field, and the churches have every reason to be.gratified with the success of the mission. The following were elected as the com-' mittee for the coining year :—President', Bro. R. Hall; vice-president, Bro. H. Coombe; treasurer, Bro. H. Owen; secretary, Bro. H. Grinstead; committee, Bro, D. Campbell, Bro. Sinclair, Sis. (Mrs.) Pratt, Sis. (Miss) Mansill. A Bible School rally was held ' on Saturday afternoon, Mr.' F. B. Knapp presiding, when addresses were delivered on " The Bible School as an Evangelising Agency," by Mrs. Callam, and "The Bible School as a Means of Training Church Members," by Mr, Wm. Phillips, of South Wellington. Special, services were held in the churches yesterday, collections being taken up for the V.M.C.A. work at Featherston Camp. The Dominion Conference opens tomorrow morning.
