TRAMWAYS BAND CONCERT.
The concert given, by the Municipal Tramways Band in His Majesty's Theatre las* evening attracted a very large attendance and was a great success. The programme opened with " Giovanni D'Arco" (Verdi),\which received an excellent interpretation by the band, and evoked much applause. Other selections played by the band were " Les Cloches de St. Etienne" (Shipley Douglas), a Verdi selection arranged by H. Round, and a contest march, "Harlequin" '(Rimmer). Violin solos were contributed by Mr. Haydn Beck, who has recently been studying .on the Continent, . and were a feature of the evening. His selections were "^Romance" (SchumannKreisler), "Caprice Viennois" and "Chinese Dance" (Kreisler), all of which were, most artistically played. Vocal selections sung by Miss Mina. Caldow were "Out of My Soul's Great Sadness" (Franz), "Inter Nos" (Macfadyen), and "How's My Boy" (Homer). The band was conducted by Mr. G W. Boyes, and the accompanist was Mr. G. F Holloway.
