AUCKLAND, This Day. . The weather was fine, but cold, for training at Ellerslie this morning, a misty light making it hard to pick up the horses. Chortle ran six furlongs in lmin 18 1-Ssec, Mandoline seven furlongs in lmin 33sec, Multiply was better than Gold Lac over the same distance in lmin 32sec; Housewife, Tepapapa, and Kauri King finished in that order in the same time ; Merry "Roe beat Castalia over six furlongs in lmin 20 l-ssec; Colonel Soult did a round in 2min 6 2-ssec. He was not doing his best. Mullingar, with the assistance at intervals of Sir Rosa and First Call, did seven furlongs in lmin 33 2-ssec, going well at the finish. Hydrus and Centre did six furlongs in lmin 21 1-5 sec. Lady Penury was better than Pendoon over seven furlongs in lmin 33sec. Honey Bee beat Homeric over five furlongs from the new post in lmin ssec; Kitty Bellairs beat Waiuta over the same course -in lmin 3 3-ssec. Bjorneborg was going stronger .than Grand Duchy over six furlongs in lmin 19 4-Ssec. Marco Bello and Desert Gold, separately, did three-quarter pace. Beltane and Hexton finished together at the end of four furlongs in 50 3-ssec. Downham and Glenroy were together, two lengths in front of Crown Pearl, at the end of seven furlongs in lmin 32 2-ssec. King Lupin beat Tinoreka over six furlongs in lraiii 19 l-ssec. Carlysian did five furlongs in lmin 7sec. Gen. Joffre and Lady Jack were together at the end of four furlongs in olseci A lot of others also worked.
