Weekly reports received by thp Labour Department indicate that tliei'e is practically no unemployment, except, in the four chief towns, and even there the position is good. In Wellington last week there were 24 married and 30 single applicants for work, and all except 11 were placed, 25 in Government and 18 in private employment. Auckland had 24 applicants arid de-alt witl* 7, all the men being placed with private employers. The majority of the men unplaced were willing and able to take heavy manual work. In Christchurch 9 applicants out of 25 were placed.
