LIST OF AWARDS.
(BT TELFDRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHUR.CH, 19th April. The Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Society gave a. number of decisions to-night, including the following :— In the case of J. Patte (aged nineteen),"" for rescuing Pte. Ranawa from drowning at sea on Bth December, 1915. Pte. Ranawa, was a patient on the hospital ship Maheno, and jumped overboard. Lifebuoys were immediately thrown over and tho ship stopped. Ranawa was too exhausted to catch hold of the buoys. J. Patte dived overboard and swam with the lifebuoy to his assistance, succeeding in rescuing him. Both men were in a- very exhausted condition. It was decided to forward the papers to the parent socipty, the local society having no jurisdiction. In the case of Arthur Radford (aged twelve), for attempting to rescue sixchildren from drowning at Wellington on 9th March, 1916, a framed certificate was granted. In the case of Walter H. Husmar (aged, forty-one) for rescuing Miss Hansen from drowning at the King's Wharf. Wellington, a. certificate was awarded. In the case of C. Turner, for rescuing Miss Hanaen from drowning at the King's Wharf, Wellington, on 13th November, 1915, a letter of commendation was granted.
