VICTORIA COLLEGE
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
The Victoria College Council met last evening, the following being present:— Messrs. C. Watson (chairman), W. S. La TVobe, T. R. Fleming, A. R. Atkinson, Hon. A. T. Maginnity, Rev. W A. Evans, Professors Adamson and Brown. On the_ recommendation ol the Finance and Business Committee, it was decided to refer Mr. Tennant's" application for an assistant lecturer in Education to the Professorial * Board and to forward to the board the name of Miss Hethorington. A further recommendation was approved as follows:—"That the council do not agree to the recommendation of the Professorial Bonrd re the appointment of Mr. P. W. Burbidge to the board, seeing that the Physics Department is already represented by Professor Easterfield." It was resolved to take steps to change the end of the financial year from 31st March to 31st December, the chairman being deputed to dc what is necessary in connection with a Bill to be submitted to Parliament. Accounts for the month totalling £1080 15s 5d were passed for payment.
