ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
A. meeting' of the Management Committee of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. E. Wells presiding. Letters were received from Mr. C H. Izard and Mr. C. P Skerrett, K.C., who notified their acceptance of the positions of patron and president respectively. The recommendation from a recent meeting of players and enthusiasts regarding the question of playing matches during the coming season was discussed. As a result a resolution was passed to the effect that no unmarried man w-ho is eligible for enlistment should play football under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Football Assciation. If during the season, however, any playei became eligible he would not be allowed to play unless he offered his services. It was also resolved that only thirdgrade matches be played this year. It was decided that entries close on 3rd May. In view of the fact that no senioi football is to be played this season, it was resolved to ask the City Council tureduce the rent of the city reserves: The subscription for third-grade teams was fixed at £2 2s.
