BERHAMPORE.
Twenty-five people attended the Berhampore meeting, which was presided over by Mr. A. A. Whitelaw. Mr. A. H. Hindmarsh, member for the district, explained the Government's scheme very lucidly, and replied 4*> a g°pd many questions, chiefly concerning the" personal canvass. Finally it was decided : "That in the opinion 6f this meeting the Recruiting Board's scheme in its present form, is unworkable."
