FIGURES FOR MARCH. Tables showing war increases in the prices of foodstuffs are published in the Labour Journal. " For the March quarter, 1916, the increases as compared with July, 1914, are as follow : —Three food groups: Auckland 15.41 per cent., Wellington 16.71 per cent., Christchurch 16.21 per cent., Dunedin 18.04 per cent. The increase, so far as Wellington is concerned, is made up as follows: — Groceries 19.94 per cent., dairy-produce 13.16 per cent., meat 15.60 per cent.
