NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. ' SYDNEY. 18th April. ' There was a big attendance {or judging day at the Sydney Royal Show. The exhibits in nearly all sections were 'good. The tota.) entries were 8288, as compared with 6976 last year. Flavinius was' awarded champion in Uiu thoroughbred stallions, and Bessi-" cake in the thoroughbred mares. Mr. Fred Fairey. of Nelson (N.Z.). took firsts for his Durham fat ox and cow. In the sheep classes, Mr. J. Nixon, of Killinchv. took finst and champion for his Enjpish Leicester ram over two years, a second for ram under' two years,' first for ram under one year, seconds for ewes over and under" two years, and first for ewe under one year In heavy Clydesdales, Messrs. Mitchell and O'Brien^ Oamaru, took second prize for stallion under three. In. the draughts, Mr. D. M'Clure. ChrisrShurch, took first for stallion under fom ; Messrs. Mitchell and O'Brien, first and second for stallions under three, and second in draughts. Mr. M'Clure Was awarded second for stallion nnder four; Messrs. Mitchell and O'Brien, second and reserve champion for mare over four and second for mare under four. Ribbonwood took champion honours in trottere.
