ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES

The weather was fine but cold for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. All work of importance was registered on the course proper, outside the trestles, -which was in good order, the result of the recent rain. Loloma beat Signo over six furlongs in' lmin 20 l-ssec. Mandoline ( ran the same distance in lmin 22 l-ssec, Tact four furlongs in 52 l-ssec, Cultriform and Bowler the same distance in 52sec. Mullingar, with the assistance of HaTlestone the last six furlongs, went a mile from the new post in lmin 44 4-ssec. Honey Bee ran five furlongs from the new post in lmin 5 4-Ssec. Merry Roe was better than Self over seven furlongs in lmin 32 1-5 sec. Colonel Soult did the best gallop of the season, covering seven furlongs in lmin 29 3-ssec. He had the assistance of Autumn Rose the last five. The. latter was of no use. The Easter candidate carried only a light-weight. Kauri King and Te Papapa got to the end of the same distance in lmin 33 l-ssec. Centre and Hydrus ran five furlongs on the tan in lmin 7 l-ssec. Hexton, Mnltifual, and Lady Mabel were in that order, over five furlongs from the new post in lmin 3 3-ssec. Hyttus, with neck sweaters on, did five furlongs on the tan in lmin Bsec. Goldsize, with the assistance of Gold Lac over the last seven, covered a round in 2min 4sec. .Kitty Bellairs did four furlongs in 50 4-ssec. Glenroy, with the assistance of Crown Pearl the last six, covered seven furlongs in lmin 33 3-ssec. The former tired at the finish. Downham did seven furlongs in lmin 35 3-ssec. Vascular, Brookfiekl, and Tragedy King were in that order in a gallop over five hurdles. Royal Arms went a mile from the new post in lmin 51 2-ssec. A lot of others, including Chortle, Multiplication, Multiply, Bravest, and ' Anxious, also worked.
Motokio has been . scratched for the Autumn Steeplechase.
