CAMP QUEEN CARNIVAL
A Queen Carnival is being run at Trentham in connection with1 the soldiers' sports gathering on Good Friday. The .candidates nominated are:—Engineers and 16th Reinforcement n.c.o.'s, Miss Kitty Doughty; 15th Reinforcements, Miss Dorothy . Young, Upper Hutt; 12th Reinforcements, Mrs. Cummings; N.Z.M.C., Miss Gear, Lower Hutt. Eighteen thousand tickets at Id each are to be sold this week, and the result will be announced on Friday. The competition is a purely local camp affair, the proceeds being devoted to the Trentham Distressed Soldiers Fund—intended to help men who have lost their kits or who have to go on sick leave and are without funds.
