SIXTEEN MEETINGS TOMORROW
MAYORS-ADVICE TO CHAIRMEN. To-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock, the Wellington district will have sixteen meetings, under the auspices of the Town Hal! Recruiting Committee. The purpose is to emphasise the urgent need of more , men—"for our honour," the Mayor states, "for our homes, for the .world's civilisation, freedom, and peace." The assemblies will be at the public schools, of The Terrace, Te Aro, Wadestown, Brooklyn, Island Bay, Berhampore, South Wellington, Newtown, Ma-' ranui, Kilbirnie, Roseneath, Clyde-quay, Mount Cook, also the Kelburn Training College, Thorndon Normal School, and the Hataitai Bowling Club's Pavilion. The Mayor wishes to give another reminder to' conveners of the various j meetings that' their duties include the selection oE speakers and other arrange-; ments necessary for such occasions. This recommendation is conveyed in a circular, which also mentions that 200 report' cards aro enclosed for use by the canvassers associated with each section, of the Wellington School District. *
