FRENCH TRADE
AFFECTED BY RISE ON 'CHANGE.

PARIS, 17th April. The Matin states that the exchange between London and Paris has recently risen to twenty-nine francs to the pound, reacting unfavourably on French trade and the Government, which has been purchasing largely in Britain.
M. Ribot (Minister for Finance) has conferred with Mr. M'Kenna (Chancellor of the Exchequer) upon an arrangement to improve the situation.
