A recent reference by "D. O'J." to the training of apprentices in Western Australia is quoted by "Industrial Tramp," Labour contributor to the Auckland Star. "Industrial Tramp" considers that the unions are the only organisations that can truty safeguard tho interests of apprentices in New Zealand; moreover, they are tho only bodies who strive to do this. The Auckland Plumbers' Union takes a live interest in the training of the apprentice, and has two prizes of the value of £5 for the apprentices who obtain the highest marks in the plumbing examinations at the Technical College.
