In connection with the (6chool' committee elections on the 17t-h inst., it is pointed out that under the Education Act of 1914 there is a difference in relation to nomination for election to school committees in the urban areas and the rural area-. In the latter case nominations may be made a-s formerly, either in writing before or at the meeting. In the school districts within tha urban areas, on the other, hand, nominations must be received by the chairman by 8 p.m. on the 10th inst., Monday evening. This latter method applies to all school-districts within Wellington City, Karori, Miramar, Onslow, also to .those within Hutt and Petone boroughs. Theu election is on the 17th inst.
