STORMY WEATHER
, A distinct change has taken place in the weather conditions. It is considerably colder than it has been for some time past, and.there has been more welcome "rain. In fact, at 1 o'clock to-day a hailstorm with heavy thunder passed over the ciiy as many people were leaving shops and. offices. . The barometer is still above normal in the north, but it is now decreasing, and will continue to do so for a few hours. A considerable vise has taken place in the south, and a very high pressure is expected during the next few days. The high barometer will be accompanied by a high southerly gale and boisterous weather, with heavy showers generally. Sleet and hail may be looked for in the South, with frosts inland. A very cold night is predicted. The rain has come most opportunely foi the refilling of the city water supply.
