TIMARU WOOL SALE

TIMARU, 31st March.
At the final wool sale to-day 4405 bales were offered and 3786 sold. The offerings this season total 17,273, or 6000 bales less than last year, partly due to the reduction in the number. of sheep through two dry seasons and partly through private sales. To-day a large quantity of merino wool from the hill country sold well at 9£d to 13Jd. Local buyers were active, and Bradford took a good share. Good half-bred fetched 16d to 17j-d, medium 13d to 15|d, super three-quarter-bred 14d to 16-Jd, medium 12£ dto 13Jd, crossbred up to ISJd. Pieces sold well. Best half-bred to lS^d. The sale conditions included a postponement of payment till the shipping documents are available.
