THE British Red Cross Society and the- Order of St John have combined for tho purpose of rendering aid to the sick and wounded during the present war. Owing to the unfortunate waste caused in the past by want of central control, a central depot has been established in Mercer-street, Wellington (opposite. the Town Hall), to which all useful articles may be sent, and from which the wants at the front will be supplied as required by the military authorities.
