It was her very first voyage, and of course she was nervous. Moreover, sho hid made herself hated by the officers because of her foolish questions. It fell to tho lot of the steward to silence her finally.
"Doesn't this ship tip a, good deal?" sho remarked timidly to that official. "Tho vessel, madam," he • replied, suavely, "is merely trying- to set a good example- to the passengers."
