CAMP NOTES

TRENTHAM APPOINTMENTS,

A notice contained in,Trentham Camp Orders states: —"Mrs. Chatfield and ladies of the Soldiers' Club, Sydneystreet, Wellington, have kindly offered to do small mendings for soldiers in Trentham Camp. These ladies are willing to mark (if required) and mend garments. Men are requested to ensure that any clothes they may take in for repairs are clean."

A very enjoyable concert was given in the Church of England Institute by the ICing's Theatre Orchestra yesterday afternoon.

Lieut. L. H. Gillet, a returned officer, has been posted to B Company, 12th Reinforcements.

The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Commandant of Trentham Camp (Lieut.-Col. H. R. Potter);—

FEATHERSTON CAMP,

' The 10th Reinforcements Infantry engaged in all-night manoeuvres near Morrison's Bush on Friday night, doing what was regarded' as very; creditable; work. They will'commence their'two and a-half days' trek to Trentham at 4 a.m. on Thursday, crossing the Rimutalcas en route.

■ The • officerg -have reported for :duty at Feathorston Camp:—CaptE. C. Siddall, N.Z.V.C., Capt. Brews tor, N.Z.M.C.

All cafes and restaurants in Featherston and Greytown have been placed out of bounds after 10 p.m. The Camp' Commandant (Lieut.-Col. M. P. Adams) has presented a challenge shield for the unit having the best-kept huts each week.

Tho following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant :— !

Headquarters, ■ Camp Commandant's Office.—To be corporal, Pte. W. P. Smith. Army Pay Department: To be pay sergeant, Pte. G. E. Alley. D Company, 11th Reinforcements.,— To be orderiy-room clerk, Cpl J. Duncan.

N.Z. Veterinary Corps.—To be cor. porals, L.-Cpl. Heron, Pte. Wylds.

LATEST APPOINTMENTS.

Chaplain-Captains Sullivan (Methodist) and Hardie .(Presbyterian) have reported for duty at Featherston Camp, also Captain Harden, N.Z.M.C. The following dentists have also re ported for duty:—Messrs A. W. Willia, C. R. T. Woods, K. C. Morpeth,-W. B. Dodds, E. G. Bender. The following temporary appointments of n.c.o.'s have been approved by the Camp Commandant (Lieut.-Colonel N. P. Adams):— • -

Machine-gun Sectiou: To be sergeants, Corporals M'lntyre, M'Kenzie, Kelly. N.Z. Dental Corps: To be sergeantmajor, Sergt. Beeson.
