SOME RECENT INNOVATIONS.

"'■',•'■ BERNE,,I3th -February.^ The newspaper Der Bund states that the Germans claim that each-week they finish a Zeppelin, which is tested on Lake Constance. Sometimes two new airships are cruising together. Motors from the great Maybach motor factory are tested for forty-eight hours uninterruptedly in, the gondolas. The Zeppelins are now covered with'armour,!arid carry machine guns - and jquickfirers and a special device for throwing aerial torpedoes. The latest invention is for the creation of, artificial clouds around the Zeppelins while flying by releasing great volumes of fumes, making the Zeppelin almost invisible from the ground.. The speed and manoeuvring power of the Zeppelins have been' greatly improved recently. "/■•'■ ':■
