PRINTERS' PICNIC
The- employees of Messrs. Watkins, Tycr, and Tolan, Ltd., held their annual picnic at Day's Bay on Saturday. The attendance, with friends, numbered nearly one hundred. A series of competitions was held, the results being as follow : —Ladies' nail-driving competition, Mrs. Watkins 1, Mrs. Thyne 2;. special prize, Mrs. Duffey. 100 yds apprentices' race, H7-White 1, H. Kent 2; 120 yds W. T. and,T. handicap, C. Tattle 1, H. White 2; thread-the-needle, Miss Anderson and N.'Patching;'7syds married men's handicap, W. Thorne 1, A. Dryden 2;.75yds ladies' open handicap, Miss Watkins 1, Miss Anderson 2; 75yds ,W. T. and T. ladies' handicap, Miss Jorgensen 1, Miss Helliwell 2. The guessing,competition was won by Deyer, the proceeds to be donated to one of the patriotic funds. The distribution of prizes was made by Mrs. Watkins.
