Mr. D. G. A. -Cooper, S.M., presided at "the Magistrate's Court to-day.
Violet Patori, a young woman, was fined 20s, in default three days' imprisonment, for drunkenness, and on , a chai-go of being an incorrigible . rogue and vagabond was remanded, for a week. For insibriety,' John -Moore was fined 10s, in default "o.hours' imprisonment; ■Heavy Greenfield was fined 20s, with the!alternative of three days': imprisonment : and Edward Valentine Westerby was fined 20s, in default 43, hours in gaol. Frank •• Mounson, for ' being drunk while in charge of a horse and cart, was fined Si 2, and. 8s expenses, in default seven days' imprisonment, and John. Morrell, for-a similar offence; was" fined £2, with the"option of seven, days' imprisonment. '-'. Allen Gordon; Reid. seventeen • years of, age, was charged with .the theft of •a motor bicycle-valued at £40, the property of John"Nome. Mr. A: H. Hindmarsh, who appeared for- defendant, .explained fh'at the boy had ' taken the bicycle from the shed at '■Government' Buildings. ' Ho had merely ridden- it backwards, and forwards, and liad no intention' whatever ■ of, stealing the ma chine. The case was adjourned unt.'! Wednesday. .
