UNIONIST CHAIRMAN AS OFFICER.
Mr. Morton, formerly chairman of, the executive board of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, having passed through the non-commissioned officers' ranks at Trentham, has now been appointed on probation to a second lieutenancy.
