THE CONSTABLE STREET EXTENSION
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Notwithstanding what the Mayor ■ hu said *bout the way residents of North Kilbirnie, Hataitai and South Roseneath will have to get to Lyall Bay, I feel sure that those persons are not going to submit quietly, like a flock of sheep to be token to the Post Office at [ Kilbirnie and then dumped into a car that may 'already be as full as it can hold, or to wait until a less full one comes along. I wonder what the Lyall Bay residents will say about being compelled, to go town via.Constable-street, I which is much longer in distance and time, and also will be a penny dearer. I challenge the authorities to publish the full figures showing in detail the cost of construction of this line, and if it does not, I know that steps will be taken in the Supreme Court to compel it, and the ratepayers who will have' to bear the cost, should the council refuse, will have something to say about the matter at the next civic election.—l am, etc WAITING FOE INFORMATION.
