Drastic powei-s are conferred by the new Trading With the Enemy Bill, which empowers the Board of Trade to prohibit the carrying on of a business during the war, or the vesting of enemy property or patents in a custodian. (Received January 21, 8.20 a.m.) LONDON, 20th January. For the earlier enemy trading Acts which were confined to the duration of I the war, the Bill provides that the reI strictions on enemy dealing will continue until removed by Order in Council. Enemy patents uncompleted at the outbreak of war are to be vested in the "Public Trustee."
