Ferdinand appointed the Kaiser Colonel-in-Chief of an infantry regiment. The Kaiser's retinue included General yon Falkenhayn (Chief of Staff), General yon Mackensen, an Admiral, and several generals. King Ferdinand's retinue consisted of two Princes and the Premier (M. Radoslavoff).
