WOOL SALES.

LONDON, 19th January. 'At to-day's sales there was a better selection. For greasy crossbreds prices were harder, and merinos made full opening rates.

SYDNEY, 20th January. The wool sales, reflecting the London market, closed animated and strong at tho highest rates for tho week, and an advazioing tendency. Scoured crossbred brought a record price of 25Jd.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received tho" following cablegram from their London, house under date of. the 18th instant:—"The sales opened with a large attendance of buyers. There was a good selection of • merinos, and competition was animated. Prices, as compared with the close of the December sales, £or good combing merinos aro 5 per cent, dearer, whilst other sorts are unchanged. Greasy crossbreds were not represented; slipes are 5 por cent, dearer." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date 18th instant:—"Tho wool sales opened 18th instant with a strong market. As compared, with 23rd December, merino greasy is par to 5 per cent, higher, while scoured as well as crossbred slipo are 5 per cent, to 7g per cent, higher. Greasy and scoured crossbreds are barely represented."

Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received tho following cable advice from their London agents, dated London, 18th January. 1916:—"Wool generally advanced 5 per cent, at the sales now current." c
