"GIPSY LOVE" TO-NIGHT.

At the Grand Opera House at ten minutes to 8 this evening the J. C. Williamson Royal Comic Opera Company will appear in the new light opera, "Gipsy Love." The plot, is a romantic one, and possesses a love story quite uncommon in a musical play. The love of Ilona (the Princess) and Jozsi (the gipsy) have become almost a classic in operatic literature. In the original version of the play the adventures of Ilona are supposed to take place in a dream, but in the hands of the English adapter this dream has materialised, and Ilona actually goes through the episodes, which end in her return to her father's house, a chastened and penitent girl, ready to appreciate the calm happiness of a peaceful existence and the love 'of an honest and courteous gentleman. . It is said that the production is in every way worthy of the J. C. Williamson firm. The fact that the principal characters will be played by Miss Florence Young (Lady Babby), who has been specially engaged ior the production, Miss Ethel Cadman (Ilona), and Mr. Derek Hudson (Jozsi), both of whom are making; their first appeaTance here, will detract nothing from the interest of what promises to be an artistic and musical treat for thn public. "Gipsy Love" will be played till Monday evening next. On Tuesday and two following nights is announced a revival of "Our Miss Gibbs," while on Friday will be given one performance of "Paul Jones." The box plans for these three attractions are now open at The Bristol.
