SOLWAY SHOW

The annual show of the Masterton A. and P Association will be held on the- Solway Showgrounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15th and 16th February next. The Solway Show is now classed as one of the most important stock exhibitions in New Zealand, and the association is making a point of specially catering for the breeder of stock. For instance, in the RomneyMarsh sheep classes, the trophies for competition include the Brancepeth Cup (for the bes-r pen of Romney rams under 21 months), the Perry Salver (for the best ram under 21 months), the Johnston Rose Bowl (for the best lamb), the New Zealand Romney-Marsh Sheepbreeders' Association's Silver Shield (for the champion ewe and the champion ram), tho Allen Cup (for most points in the Romney classes), and the M'Dougall Bros.' Trophy (also for the most points in the Romney classes). In addition, of course, there will be gold medals for the champion ram and ewe. The Southdown classes are also well endowed in the matter of special prizes. Breeders of sheep for freezing purposes are particularly well catered for Entries will close* with the secretary (Mr. J. B Emmett, Box 40, Masterton), on 29th January, at 9 p.m. Late entries will be received up till sth February, on the payment of le per entry for late fee. The annual ram and ewe fair 'will be held on 17th and 18th February, entries for which will close on 31st January.
