REPORT OF ODDFELLOWS' SOCIETY. The sixty-sixth annual report of the Widows and Orphans' Society, in connection with the 1.0.0.U.,M.U., was presented at a meeting of the society last evening. It showed a satisfactory condition of affairs, at 31st December, 1915. The total amount of the funds was £2621 4s lOd, and of that amount £2414 was out on mortgage, £207 4s 4d was in the Post Office Savings Bank, and a balance of 6d was in the hands of the treasurer. The management fund showed a balance of £83 8s lid; the best balance the society had yet had at the end of'a quinquennial period:

The society started the ■ year with 57 members on the books. Two new members had since joined, and one had been lost by death and one by arrears. One of the oldest members died on' Ist January, and those left behind would draw a. sum of £90 10s. During the last twenty years the funeral claims paid by the society amounted to £1434 6s 7d, which showed what the humble sum of. lid per week properly invested would return. The above amount did riot include tlie £90 10s due to the late brother's relatives.

The secretary reported that he had to strike off one of the members for arrears. In this case the member left the town without leaving his address;: but the secretary succeeded in getting his 'new address and wrote to him.

As the year 1915 ended the society's quinquennial period, the secretary was taking action to place all necessarypapers in the hands of the actuary, so that there would not be any. waste of time in getting the society valuation brought up-to-date. - .

The following officers were, elected and installed for the year: —President, Bro. J. J. Webb; vice-president, Bro. F. W. WatkinsV auditors, Bros. A. C. Blair and J. Hollis; secretary, Bro. H. W. M'Carthy.
