WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. SALE 25th JANUARY, 1916. THE Associated Brokers regret Laving to announce thnt, owing to shortage in shipping tounage, Brokers' Associa tions throughout the Dominion have been compelled to POSTPONE ALL SALES until the position is cleared. Consequently the Wool Sale fixed for Tuesday, 25th January, 1916. in Wellington, has boon jxjstponed until a date to be fixed. While deploring the necessity for euch action. Growers may rest assured that Sales will be resumed as soon as tonnage is in sight, but to force wool on the market under present- conditions would assuredly adversely affect prices. -Under the circumstances, therefore, Brokers trust that Growers -will recognise that the postponement has been decided upon in their best . interests. The Sale in question promised to establish a record for Dominion Sales, totalling about 37,500 bales, and in consequence of the hold-up all stores in Wellington are now congested, and as there is no shipping space available for Wool, either ox sales or for direct shipment, Growers who have not yet sent their clip forward are advised to retain same in the country meanwhile so as to avoid additional charges in Wellington." Whilst it is impossible at the moment to state definitely what the future prospects are, it is quite certain that Sales will be held at intervals as shipping space is insight, during February, March, and April, and it is hoped to clear the whole Now Zealand clip by the end of April under favourable conditions as rsgards tonnage and market. It has been decided that Wool will be sold in the same order as stacked for the January Sale Growers, will please accept thia notice as intimation of the position. J. H.
