DROWNING ACCIDENTS. (BY TEI.ECRAWI.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, 20th January. An inquest on the bodies of the three nchildren, Vera, Olive, and Sam Mumford, who lost their lives by drowning in the pond at. Riccartoh 'Racecourse yesterday afternoon, was held to-night. A verdict of found drowned was returned, ,md there was no blame attachable to anyone. Jlr. Wanklyn, secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club, stated that he would take steps to have all the dangerous spots around the lake fenced off. with wire-netting. . _ ; AUCKLAND, 19th January. vWilliam Planning;, a flax cutter, aged 43, fell from » punt at Rangitaiki <yjtl°t and was drowned. At the inquest it was staled that decrosntl sank in fifteen second*. " A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned. ■
