BOWLING

WELLINGTON CENTRE TOURNAMENT.

FINAL GAME.

The final game in the Wellington Bowling Centre's tournament was played on the Wellington green this afternoon under ideal conditions. The green was in perfect orJer, albeit very fast. The players found some difficulty in controlling their bowls in the earlier heads. The teams competing were : Pctone (Hendry, Fowler, Coles Beynon, ski?) fnd Ne'wtown (Pankhurst, Crosby, Hansom, Noble, skip). Beynon's team started off with a score of three off the first head, followed with one off the second, and three off the third. Noble then took a hand, his team getting a better idea- of the green. Coles was lying on the jack with a beautiful bowl. Ranson, with his last bowl, rested by Coles's bow] and lay second. Beynon almost knocked that bowl up for shot. Noble, with his last bowl, siiifted the shot bowl, and lay two—his first score. Beynon 7, Noble 2.

Beynon, however, had revenge in the fifth head, scoring three, and making the tally 10-2. In the sixth head Coles drew two beauties, but Ransom rested him off the kitty. It was a great bowl. Beynon just missed taking Ransom off with his first, but was timbered with his second. Noble's bowls were of no use. Noble 3, Bevnon 10.

In the seventh head Noble was lying two. and drew another with his first bowl. He was unlucky with his second shot, trailing the kitty over and leaving it a measure for shot. Beynon drew the shot with his last bowl, and the measure gave him another. Beynon 12, Noble 3.

When the skips went down the eighth head Noble was lying two, but Beynon killed the head with his first bowl. Playing on, the head resulted in Noble scoring a single. Beynon 12, Noble 4.

The ninth was a better head, the players settling down to their work, though inclined to be too much up. Noble scored two. Beynon 12, Noble 6.

In the tenth head Beynon scored a single, and in the eleventh Noble added one, making the scores Beynon 13, Noble 7.
