BOWLING TOURNEY
NEARING THE END,
The Wellington Bowling Centre's New Year tournament is drawing towards a close, the final stages,'as usual, being played on the Wellington Club's green. In the first part of the morning tho weather was by no means promising, <i cool southerly bringing with it a rainfall that suggested unpleasant possibilities. However, by 10 o'clock the sun was shining and the green had been rolled, and the two first sets of combatants en- | tered the arena—both from the Wellington Club, and, therefore, playing on their own green. They were:—lnnes, Waddel, K. Gilmer, Porteous (skip) ; Greiifell, Ballinger, Kinvig, Jackman (skip). Porteous's team took possession from the start, and at the end of the 'twentieth head Jackman gave in. The score was then: Porteous 25, Jackman 10. The second round is being played as The Post • goes to press—Prince v. Brackenridge, Porteous v. Wylie, Perry v. Beynon, Nobie v. Dinnie. ' The semifinal is to be played later in the afternoon, and the final. will be played tomorrow afternoon.
