The Indrapura, en route from London, left the Cape the previous day, ami should arrive here about the Oth February

Mr. C. C. Marshall has signed on the Arahura as purser in place of Mr, R. T. Carlyon, who is about to go into camp with the infantry ' reinforcements Mr. G. B. Brown, mate of the Wairau, has left the vessel Mr. C. S. Hewlitt has signed'on the Arahura as third officer Mr. W. J. Nixon has joined .the Maori as seventh engineer, relieving Mr. G/ L. Timnis Mr. Cornish, chief ofllcer of the Hiuemoa, having enlisted with the Reinforcements, Captain Hall, Into master of the whaler Ilfliianui, has been appointed chief ofllcer. Mr. ICerridge, third ofllcer of the vessel, has also volunteered for the front Mr. It. V. Dickey, who has been on sick leave, has rejoined the Pateena as purser

ATHENIC DUE FRIDAY

Telegraphic advice received by the Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company states that the Athenic, en route from Liverpool to Wellington, via- ports, arrived at Napier from Auckland yesterday afternoon. She is expected to leave the Hawkes Bay port on Thursday, and should reach Wellington the following day

MISHAP TO WHAKATANE

According to cabled advices receives in Wellington the Now Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Whakatane recently arrived at Gravesend in a damaged condition. The vessel left, Lyttelton for London on the 3rd October, anil collided in the Downs (North Sea) with tb.e Repton, a steamer of 28S1 tons. The loaal office of the New Zealand Sliippiug Company has been advised that tho cargo suffered no damage. Regarding the damage to the j'hip no particulars are available

THE LIMERICK

It is expected that the Limerick, wh/.ch is to load in New Zealand for London undor the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company, will arrive at Waitara from Sydney tomorrow. She proceeds thenco to Wanganui and Wellington, and will sail from hem finally for London

CENTURY LOADING

The steamer Century, which is- ,at present loading in New Zealand under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company, is now working. Tokomaru Bay. She calls at Gisborne and Napier on her way down the coast, and should reach Wellington about thro end of the week. The Century complete!) HIMITANGI SLIGHTLY ttAMAGED

To-day the Secretary of the Post Office was advised by the officer in charge of the wireless station at the Chatham Island*; that the steamer aimitangi had met with a slight mishap. The message stated that wlven tiie Himitangi was leaving Mamikau for VYhangaroa at 1.20 p.m. on Saturday, she stripped three blades of her propeller, but was able to proceed on the remaining blade, steaming at five knots.' She arrived at Whangaroa at 0.30. p.m. The Himitangi'now lies safely at a'nclior at Whangaroa. A further examination of, the propeller showed considerable stumps remaining The Hiniitangi leaves at noon to-morrow for Wellington, steaming about 6 knots

HINEMOA FOU KARORI ROCK

Early this morning the Government steamer Hinemoa left Wellington for Karori Rock, Nelfon, and Astrolabe. She will return to Wellington on Friday, amd sails the following Wednesday on her periodical inspection of the northern lighthouses

PAPAROA DISCHARGING

The Paparoa, which is running under charter to the F. an/1 S. Line, and arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from Liverpool, via ports, is to be despatched for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge on Thursday

MAPOURIKA TO LAY UP

The Mapourika, which made a trip to Lyttelton on Saturday in' order to act as a special steamer from the southern port, arrived back in Wellington to-day. Tbe crew is to be paid off, and the vessel will lay up indefinitely

The Awahou is due here this afternoon from Foxton, and sails to-morrow for Lyttelton

. Shortage'^ of labour has been responsible for delaying the discharge of the Waimea's coal cargo, but it is proposed to despatch the vessel for Nelson and the West Coast to-morrow
