FRENCH SOCIALISTS
WILL ADHERE TO THE WAR.
PARIS, 31st December. The National Congress of Socialists passed resolutions adhering to the war until Alsace and Lorraine, after a formal vote of the' inhabitants, are reunited to France, until Austro-Germans have evacuated all invaded countries, and durable peace is assured.
Also, recommending compulsory arbitration for the settlement of international disputes, with measures both economic and military for enforcing respect to the signatures, together with . reduction of armaments.
The Congress urged Germans to secure the- people's sovereignty, by establishing universal suffrage, declaring that the resumption of relations with German Socialists will be dependent upon the repudiation of militant Imperialism and the policy of conquest.
The Congress endorsed Mr. Asquith's statement against the conclusion of separate peace.
