SKIN AND HIDE SALES
Local brokers held their fortnightly skin and hide sale yesterday. The official prices were as follow :—
Sheepskins.—Halfbred, 12d ; fine crossbred, llgd to 12d; medium to coarse croesbred, Ufd to 12d; short and haltwools. 8d to 9d ; dead and damaged crossbred, BAd to lO^d; inferior and badly damaged, 3d to sd; damp, salted, and green. 3s to 10s; pelts, 2s 7d to 2sl 9d : lambs,, salted. Is lid to 4s 3d.
Hides.—Ox, heavy, 601b up, 10£ dto 11-id: ox. medium,"so-59, B£d to lid; ox, light, 49 and under, 9d to 9Jd: cow. medium, Bid to 9£d; cow, light, under 42, B|d to Bfd; cut, slippy, and inferior. 6|d to 7|d; bull stag, 6d to 6}d; yearlings (161b to 241b), 6id to 74d; calf, superior (up to 161b), 9d to lOfd ; calf, medium to good, do, 8d to 9gd; caif. damaged, Id to Bd. Tallow.—[n casks, 27s 6d to 29s 6d :in tins, etc.. 20s 6d to 25s 6d.
