A girl named Alicia Wilkinson was walking in the street when a soldier namedv Henry Lawson seized her, saying, "Why did yon throw me over? Aren't voii going to say good-bye?" -The girl said,I have already done so." Lawson then drew a revolver and. pointed it at. the girl, who struck it aside • as' he fired, ihe gtrl fell from fright, a-nd Lawson again fired at the girl, the bullet grazing her cheek. He then ran away and was .pursued by the onlookers. Presently he stopped, and turning the revolver to his temple, committed suicide.
