AUCKLAND, 17th .December. The Auckland Chamber of Commerce recently' asked the Defence Minister to issue cards to all men registering for active service to enable employers to discriminate in favour of those prepared to do their duty to the country.

Tlie Minister's reply is that "the whole matter is under consideration by myself and Departmental officers. We'hope to have a scheme ready for the public before long which will" very likely include the registration cards suggested."
