THE WEIGHT OF THE EMPIRE
A SCHEME OF'CONSULTATION. LONDON, 17th December At the request of the Unionist Busiuess Committee, Mr Asquith has fixed 4th January as the date for a debate on the advisability of immediately consulting the dominions with a view* to bringing the Empire's whole economic strength against the enemy, in co-operation with Britain's allies. The promoters urge ihat steps he taken to defeat Germany's system of trade treaties.
