In the House of Commons, Lord Robert Cecil (Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs) stated that the immediate object of the Allies was to regularise the military position, and to deny Bulgaria and the Central Powers any direct or indirect control over Salonika. This was believed to be in accordance with the wishes of Greece. He hoped that the negotiations would scon be satisfactorily concluded.
