PUBLIC LECTURE

The lecture on "Flies and the Public Health "to be given in the Concert Chamber to-night by Professor Kirk, M.A., F.L.S., will deal with the crimes of the house fly and his kindred as bearers of disease. It has been said on good authority that m the South African War flies -were more dangerous than bullets. The evidence on which this is based will be dealt with and reasons will be set forth for controlling the fly scourge in city and camp, and especially in the camps of the soldiers in Egypt and on Gallipoli. The lecture will be presided over by the Mayor, and will be free.
