•MI MILLION FRESH TROOPS FOR RUSSIA , DEFENCE OF SALONIKA THE ANCONA OUTRAGE AUSTRIA'S REPLY TO UNITED STATES News from Holland is that Germany is preparing an attack on the French front. The military expert of the Temps says this is not improbable, and that we must be on our guard, but are in a position to inflict a decisive defeat if the attack is made. \ There are contradictory reports regarding the entry of . the Bulgarians into Greek territory. Eeuter's Agency 'declares that the Bulgars do not want to do so, but are being forced by the Germans. A German attack on Salonika is expected, and the Allies are landing many heavy guns. Austria has replied to the American Note regarding the jsinking of the Ancona, but the reply is wholly inconclusive, and is chiefly critical of the presentation of the American claim. A bombastic speech has been made by the German Secretary of State for the Treasury. He declares that England is faced with convulsion of her prestige in the international money, market, and that the foundation of the British [Empire is tottering. Sir John French, who has relinquished the command of the British armies in France and Belgium, at his own instance, has been created a discount.
