During the week-end a race was flown, under the auspices of the Hutt *Valley Homing Pigeon Society, with the following result: —
From Russell, estimated air-line, 420 miles: A. and J. Booth's "Old Roger," lOhr SOmin Msec, velocity 1137.6 yards per minute, 1; England and Hudson's
"Taringamutu," lOhr 49min 30sec, velocity 1137 yards per minute, 2; Whitehead and Booth's "Juno," llhr 28min 50sec, velocity 1073 yards per minute, 3 ; E. M'Mahon's "Gipsy," llhr 30min, velocity 1072 yards per minute; W. and L Booth's "Redwing," 13hr 28min, velocity 915 yards per minute; C. D. and 0. Abraham's "Dominion," 15hrj velocity 750 yards per minute.
